When deciding on a location for a session, many factors are considered. Time, weather, and client vision are some that came to mind. Alex and Staci initially wanted to make the drive from Charleston (where Alex is stationed) to Charlotte (where their family is located) for their engagement session. When timing didn’t work out, we were back to square one with brainstorming locations. After researching locations in their area, I came across Driftwood Beach in Edisto Island, SC and my mind was instantly filled with inspiration.
It was a 4+ hour drive (one way) for me, going to a place I had never been, shooting with a couple I had never officially met, and I had no doubt in my mind that it was going to be amazing.
There have not been many places that have caused me to be in complete awe, but this was one of them. The beach was untouched, respected, and left for us to appreciate what nature had to offer. As we walked around, there was beauty at every corner.
Alex and Staci + Driftwood Beach were the perfect recipe for an ideal engagement session. I couldn’t be happier with these images and I would absolutely drive the 8 hours all over again if I had to.
